It’s been a fun and exciting first week of May here at Dean Michaels Studio, and we’re here to help you play catch-up!

After updating our Pinterest page and Instagram accounts earlier this week, we posted some really awesome classic wedding photos from Toni Ann & James’ 2008 fall wedding day (blog post, blog gallery). Dean Michaels Studio was also happy to announce that happy NJ couple Dana & Andrew won our Grand Prize Round for our Best of Weddings 2012 Facebook Contest, which after all nine rounds of competition (!), means that they’re wedding photos were voted the favorites of the year! Congratulations!

Dean Michaels Studio is so happy to announce that Andrew and Dana won our Best of Weddings 2012 Grand Prize! Check out their awesome wedding photos here and take a look at their winning sampler below to learn a little bit more about the couple

How they first met: After having gone on multiple trips to Mt. Snow and Killington for years, it wasn’t until 2010 on one of those trips that they were more than casual acquaintances.

Dana’s favorite wedding memory: “Lights flashing, the music was pumping, I could feel all of our family and friends waiting inside for us, and that moment when the curtains lifted and I heard us announced as husband and wife for the first time! All I wanted to do was jump and dance and celebrate, and Andrew picked me up and spun me around, onto the dance floor, where we stayed all night!”

Andrew’s favorite wedding memory: “The guys got to the church super early, followed by a lot of waiting and watching all of our guests as they showed up and greeting them, and then more waiting. But all of a sudden, it seemed like just a few minutes later that the church was packed and I couldn’t wait any longer for the girls and Dana to arrive. That feeling of anticipation was so exciting and memorable, but the moment she stepped through the door and I could see her was my favorite moment, and I was just really happy to know that she was walking down the aisle towards me.”

These are our 9 finalists (Erin & Tim, Kate & Chad, Dianna & Anthony, Dana & Andrew, Jean Marie & Daniel, Meghan & John, Elissa & Jay, Elizabeth & Patrick and Noreen & Robert) for our Best of Weddings 2012 Facebook Competition! Much like the earlier rounds of competition, the goal is to get as many likes on your favorite couple’s sampler (now customized with cute facts about each participating couple!) to crown the ultimate Best of 2012 winner! Voting will take place from today, April 26th to next Friday, May 3rd, with the winning couple walking away with a beautiful wedding portrait of their choice, and the ultimate wedding photography bragging rights… at least until the end of 2013! Ready for the holiday weekend? Catch up with everything you might have missed this past week at Dean Michaels Studio!

Camille & Dean's wedding took place at the Madison Hotel in Morristown, NJ in September of 2010.

Before we get started with the recap, Dean Michaels Studio would like to wish a heartfelt congratulations to all of our happy couples who tied the knot this past weekend: Janee & Dino and Michelle & Gregory! Enjoy the honeymoon!

It’s been another crazy week of wedding photography and events here at Dean Michaels Studio! Let us catch you up with everything that’s been posted lately

Some of the outdoor formals for Jessica & Edward's June 2012 were taken at the Madison Train Station in Madison, NJ!

We had a little bit of a shortened week after a blog hiatus due to some updates (catch up with everything we uploaded during that time here), but Wednesday started off strong with Kirsten & Gabe’s beautiful January engagement shoot (blog post, blog gallery, Facebook album). We followed that up on Thursday with some gorgeous shots from Jenna & John’s wedding photos (blog post, blog gallery, Facebook album), ending the week with our monthly classic couple, Anna & Kamil, and their wedding photos from August 2010 (blog post, blog gallery). Our friends over at the WeddingThingz.com Real Weddings/Engagements blog also shared Mary & AJ’s beach engagement shoot (blog post, WeddingThingz album).

We also updated our Instagram and Pinterest accounts this week!

Round 9 of our Best of Weddings Facebook Competition started at the end of 2012 during our blog upgrade, but we’re so excited to be nearly a week away from finding out our last couple to join the grand prize competition!

Dean Michaels Studio is thrilled to present the winners of Round 8 of our Best of Weddings 2012 Facebook Competition – Elizabeth and Patrick. Our New Jersey photographers started off the beautiful October day with the bride and her girls getting ready at Elizabeth’s home in Wallington, NJ. Before long, we met up with the groom and his guys for some quick shots at Saint Joseph’s Parish in Passaic, NJ before the start of the gorgeous fall ceremony. After some quick and fun outdoor formals with their bridal party, it was off to meet up with the rest of their family and friends inside the reception at The Tides in North Haledon, NJ. Dean Michaels Studio knew when we took their engagement photos that their wedding photos were going to be great, and we weren’t disappointed. After beating out some tough competition with over 50 likes on their sampler, we’re absolutely thrilled to share their wedding photos with you. With the ninth and final preliminary round starting on Tuesday, we can’t wait to see who joins Elizabeth and Patrick with past round winners Erin & Tim, Kate & Chad, Dianna & Anthony, Dana & Andrew, Jean Marie & Daniel, Meghan & John and Elissa & Jay for the grand prize round, which will start in March!

As the days get longer and the sun shines over the weekend, Dean Michaels Studio happily looks back on a very busy week at the beginning of what is setting itself up to be a very busy year!

Emily & Scott's wedding took place at The Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ in June of 2011.

We started off the week by posting the samplers for Round 8 of our Best of Weddings 2012 Facebook Competition (blog post, Facebook album). We also announced that Dean Michaels Studio made it to the final round of WeddingThingz.com’s Wedding Photo of the Year contest (blog post, WeddingThingz blog post) – and don’t forget to vote! We were then really excited to share some weird portraits taken of Weird New Jersey founders Mark & Mark (blog post, blog gallery, Facebook album) before sharing some gorgeous images from Alycia & Brendan’s August 2012 wedding day (blog post, blog gallery, Facebook album). We finished the week by posting some super fun images from Suzana & Justin’s fall 2012 city engagement shoot (blog post, blog gallery, Facebook album). Dean Michaels Studio also announced our participation as a vendor at two upcoming bridal shows – the 2013 Madison Hotel Bridal Show and Unveiled: The Exclusive Bridal Showcase, both of which are coming up at the end of January and beginning of February.
